The City of Canada Bay operates a Local Heritage Assistance Fund to encourage conservation work. Dollar for dollar grants are available of up to $3,000 to owners of heritage items and up to $2,000 to owners of contributory buildings in conservation areas.  For the 2017-2018 financial year there will be a total of $30,000 in funding to be distributed.

Applications can be received at anytime and are only accepted for work that has been completed and paid for. Applications will be assessed for approval every three (3) months by the Heritage Advisor.

Applicants should:

  • Read the 2017/18 Local Heritage Assistance Fund Guidelines and complete the Application Form
  • Provide 'before and after' works colour photographs
  • Provide evidence of costs (invoices) and where relevant, sketches of work/plans

Applicants are encouraged to contact our Heritage Advisor prior to works being completed to confirm whether projects are appropriate for funding. Proceeding with works prior to discussions with our Heritage Advisor could result in ineligibility.

Council's Heritage Advisor is at Council on Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment only.  To speak with the Heritage Advisor, contact Council's Customer Service Centre on 9911 6555.
