Mayors Golf Day Raises $30,000 for Charity

The return of the Mayor’s Golf Day has been a huge success, this year raising over $30,000 for local charity CaraCare, says Mayor Angelo Tsirekas. “Our community showed its charitable side and we have raised a generous amount for CaraCare, a worthy recipient with the work they undertake working with children dealing with trauma,” the Mayor said.  “It’s fantastic to be able to support such an important cause. The funds donated to CaraCare will cover the costs of their ten week program for ten children. “Although the weather threatened, 28 teams turned out to play some entertaining golf in the sunshine, with the Chemist Warehouse team the winners for 2017. Congratulations to all the players from the Chemist Warehouse team.” “Thanks to everyone involved this year, without whom this event could not happen. I would like to thank our sponsors, those who donated items for the event, members of Rotary Club, Drummoyne who volunteered their time and of course all who participated to create an enjoyable day.”
