Nominate your Citizen of the Year

“It is important to recognise the work of our fellow citizens and I encourage every community member to get involved and nominate someone,” Mayor Tsirekas said.  “The Citizen of the Year awards provides the perfect opportunity for us to reward those residents who work hard to support our local community each and every day. “Our community is brimming with talented individuals. We all know someone who could be nominated, so it’s time to show them our appreciation.” Nominees may be respected volunteers, social advocates, accomplished sporting representatives or business professionals who work above and beyond to create sustainable improvements for our community. Awards will be presented to our most outstanding community members in the following categories: Citizen of the Year Young Citizen of the Year Sports Citizen of the Year Arts and Culture Citizen of the Year.

The awards are open to residents or those affiliated with local groups or associations. Young Citizen of the Year award is open to residents 12-24 years of age (as at 26 January 2018) and Citizen of the Year is open to residents 25 years and over (as at 26 January 2018).  Nominations close Friday, 24 November 2017 and the awards will be presented on Australia Day, 2018.
