City of Canada Bay awards over $150,000 to community groups

Community & events | 16 June 2025

The City of Canada Bay is awarding more than $150,000 to 55 groups as part of its Community Grants Program for 2025-26, supporting a wide range of projects that foster community connection, wellbeing, and inclusion.

“Each year, Council calls out for submissions from community groups, not-for-profit organisations and schools in need of funding for programs that benefit our local community. We were delighted to announce our 2025-26 grant funding recipients at our last Council meeting and we look forward to formally acknowledging them at a ceremony in July,” said City of Canada Bay Michael Megna.

“These grants are about backing the incredible work that’s already happening across our community,” said Mayor Megna, noting the vital role grant funding can play in empowering local organisations to deliver programs that directly benefit residents.

“Whether it’s helping older residents stay active, encouraging students to get involved in environmental initiatives, promoting cultural diversity or supporting people with disability, the projects we’re helping to fund aim to address important community needs,” he said.

“It’s fantastic to see such a wide range of projects funded this year. From sporting clubs to grassroots environmental groups, schools, cultural associations and service organisations, the successful applicants reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our community.”
