Improving play in Canada Bay

Planning & building | 20 February 2024

We’re making Canada Bay a great place to play! In 2024, $7.1 million will be invested in the development of engaging and accessible playscapes across the area.

Our new playground at Brett Park, Drummoyne is expected to be complete by May 2024. The project will transform the space into an adventure playground with an emphasis on natural play elements including tree logs, rope elements, water, sand and sensory play. This project is jointly funded by the NSW Government and the City of Canada Bay.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with the City of Canada Bay, our $4.7 million upgrade of Charles Heath Reserve, Five Dock is set to open later this year. It will feature an adventure playground, picnic shelters, barbecues, and more. The upgrade will provide our fast-growing Five Dock community access to vital green, open space and outdoor play facilities.

We are also pleased to share that construction is set to commence early this year on new playgrounds at W.A. McInnes Reserve in North Strathfield and Majors Bay Reserve, and we are reviewing feedback received on proposed upgrades at McIlwaine Park in Rhodes and Cabarita Park.
