Recreation in Cabarita Park

Cabarita Park is one of the City of Canada Bay's showpiece parks. Located on the Parramatta River at Cabarita, the 10-hectare park features a heritage pavilion, ferry wharf, children's playground, picnic facilities, remnant bushland, a swimming centre, marina and restaurant, and grassy areas on which to enjoy the view of the river. It is a popular location for activities such as walking for pleasure and exercise, walking dogs, children's play, cycling, jogging, picnics and barbecues, informal ball games, and gatherings of family and friends. Water-based activities in or from the Park include swimming, rowing and boating. Organised activities include ceremonies such as weddings, community events such as Christmas Carols and one-off musical events, large group picnics, school cross-country races, triathlons, filming, and children's parties.

Cabarita Park has local, State and national heritage significance. The park was one of Sydney's popular pleasure gardens in 1880s. The park is home to the Federation Pavilion, and contains memorials to the fallen in World War II and to the rower William Beach.

Most of Cabarita Park is owned by City of Canada Bay Council, with narrow strip of land on the eastern side owned by the Crown.
