Join us for an author talk with award-winning writer GR McDougall as he discusses his new book Start with C.
About the book
It's 1987. Local outback handyman, Kev, investigates the disappearance of a colourful Bicentennial official, Cliff Badger. The problem is that the prime suspects are his friends: the fiery Aboriginal leader, Billy, the passionate black mumma, Mara, and the manipulative councillor, Cheryl Sheila.
With a suspicious death in custody, the invasive Riot Squad believes Badger's disappearance may be linked to a planned black uprising.
Based on real events, GR McDougall worked with prison inmate Vick Watson to bring this black comedy of outback misunderstandings, racism, and ensuing insanity to life.
