“Our City of Canada Bay’s annual photography competition received an overwhelming response from the community this year, with more than 300 entries,” said Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.
The theme for this year’s competition was ‘Capture Canada Bay’ and asked locals to share a close-up look at everyday life through their lens.
“I am very proud of the beautiful places and wonderful people that make up our City of Canada Bay, and this competition really helps showcase our area,” Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.
“Thank you to all the entrants for taking the time to share their photographs, and congratulations to our winners.”
Entries were collected across three categories – Faces, Nature and Man-made – with the winners announced on Thursday, 2 September:
- Chamindri Happawana, winner in the Nature category
- Daniel Varrica, winner in the Man-made category
- Rosary Coloma, winner in the Faces category
- A special congratulations to our People’s Choice Award winner, Lucia Evangelista, whose photo (picture below) received more than 1,200 votes.
