City of Canada Bay to award over $160,000 in Community Grants

Community & events | 11 March 2024

The City of Canada Bay has opened its 2024–25 Community Grants program!

Our grants provide financial support for not-for-profit organisations, community groups and, in some instances, schools to undertake local events, community services and programs, and environmental projects.

“We are very excited to be opening our grants for the new financial year,” said City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna.

“We are committed to supporting programs, events and organisations that benefit our residents by encouraging social connection and community development, fostering community engagement, and positively impacting our environment.”

This year, the City of Canada Bay will be awarding $167,000 in grants across three categories:

  • Community Project Grants – provide support for local not-for-profit organisations and projects which strengthen community networks and improve the wellbeing of residents through positive social connections and by addressing issues that cause disadvantage.
  • Event Grants – provide a contribution towards events that promote community engagement and connectedness.
  • Environmental Grants – provide support for environmental and sustainability outcomes in our area and projects that develop knowledge, skills and active involvement in the environmental space.

Applications for this year’s Community Funding Programs are open until Friday, 12 April 2024.
