The Rhodes Moon Festival is set to return to Rhodes Foreshore Park on 23 and 24 September 2023.
“I’m delighted that the Rhodes Moon Festival will be returning this year, bringing people together from across Sydney to celebrate the wonderful diversity of our community,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.
The Moon Festival is a traditional Chinese celebration associated with moon worshiping and the autumn harvest. Over the years it has come to represent a time for family and friends to come together and give thanks.
The two-day extravaganza in Rhodes will be the ultimate sensory experience with delicious food, live music, children’s activities and spectacular cultural performances.
It will culminate with a beautiful display of an illuminated full moon, inviting a moment of wonder and reflection.
As part of the festivities on Saturday, visitors can drop into The Connection from 11am–2pm for a special Moon Festival craft activity or visit the Council stall from 11am–4pm for a free bike tune-up with mobile bike mechanics.
The festival will take place from 10am–6pm on Saturday and 10am–4pm on Sunday.
This community event is hosted by the Rhodes Multicultural Community Association (RMCA) in partnership with TM Media and AB Media, and is sponsored by the City of Canada Bay.
