New plans revealed for popular Bayview Park swim site

Planning & building | 16 February 2023

Visitors to Bayview Park will soon have a new amenities building after the City of Canada Bay revealed plans to build a new facility at the riverside park.

“I’m delighted to be sharing our proposal to build a new amenities building at Bayview Park,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“The opening of Bayview Park Baths has brought more visitors to the much-loved recreation area and these plans will provide our community with the infrastructure they need to best enjoy the park and the swim site.”

The City of Canada Bay is proposing to build the new amenities block to support the recently opened swim site and improve the park experience for visitors.

In November 2022 Bayview Park Baths reopened to the public after being closed for 60 years. Since then, hundreds of families have flocked to the park to picnic and cool off during the summer heat.

The new amenities block will be closer to the swim site and Council is currently seeking feedback about the proposal.

“We are asking the community for their feedback so we can build something that is fit for purpose. I encourage residents to share their thoughts and help us improve the experience of visiting Bayview Park,” Mayor Tsirekas said.
