Planning the future of the Timbrell Park Precinct

Council | 31 October 2023

The City of Canada Bay is calling on the community to help shape the future of Timbrell Park.

“We have recently identified opportunities to improve traffic, parking, park amenities and pedestrian safety around the park, and will begin considering future upgrade works for the playing fields,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“Timbrell Park is a valuable community space and the introduction of a masterplan will shape how it is improved, managed and maintained going forward.”

The proposed upgrades include additional angled parking spaces along Henley Marine Drive to increase parking capacity for the community and the installation of new pedestrian crossings to increase pedestrian safety and amenity, and traffic calming measures.

The City of Canada Bay is currently investigating the playing fields to inform the early planning of the upgrade works and has called on the community for suggestions on the future design.

Mayor Tsirekas said he was enthusiastic about the valuable contribution of the community on these proposed changes and encouraged all residents to view the concept plans and contribute their feedback.

“Timbrell Park is a special space that is highly valued by many of our residents, and we want to ensure it continues to meet the evolving needs of our unique community, which requires a collaborative approach to planning its future,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

To provide feedback on the concept plans for the proposed upgrades, residents can head to:
