St Lukes Oval Upgrade

Our $1.9 million St Lukes Oval upgrade in Concord is nearly complete.

The revitalisation of the space is expected to increase playing hours, provide improved wet weather playability, and offer opportunities for better athletic performance.

The project includes:

  • Widening of the oval
  • New irrigation
  • Sports field drainage
  • Installation of a new turf cricket wicket
  • Relevelling the playing surface and returfing the field
  • Construction of a new picket fence
  • New AFL player shelters
  • New barbecue shelter
  • Athletics infrastructure that includes a long jump pit with three senior and three junior jump lanes, as well as a warm-up running track.

The revitalisation of the space is expected to increase playing hours, provide improved wet weather playability, and offer opportunities for better athletic performance.

Local sporting groups who use the oval include Inner West Little Athletics, Briars Cricket, Concord Giants AFL, Canada Bay Cannons and Drummoyne Power.

Works are expected to be complete in April 2023.

The project was funded by the City of Canada Bay and the NSW Government through its Greater Sydney Sports Facility Fund.
