Uhrs Point Reserve launch facility

Council | 29 September 2020

Launching passive water craft such as kayaks and canoes will be easier thanks to a new project in Rhodes.

“Thanks to the NSW Government’s Boating Now program, we are planning to construct a new craft launch facility at Uhrs Point Reserve in Rhodes,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“When finished, launching your kayaks, canoes, and other passive water craft will be easy and safe.”

Uhrs Point Reserve is located on the southern foreshore of the Parramatta River on the western side of the Ryde Bridge. The reserve is the home of 1st Yaralla Sea Scouts Group and DSA Dragon Boat Club.

“We are working closely with the community on this project and are inviting feedback on the plans for the new launch facility,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

The project, budgeted at $890,400 is planned to commence in March 2021.

“When complete, the new launch facility will improve the experience of boating along the picturesque Parramatta River for locals and visitors.”
