Parking and permits
Permit eligibility and parking policy
Permit Parking Schemes have been installed around the City Canada Bay to manage and share parking in locations of high demand. Council has four types of permit schemes in place: Resident Parking Schemes, Visitor Parking Schemes, Business Parking Schemes and Parks Parking Schemes.
There are strict rules governing permit applications and the use of permits. In accordance with the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) requirements and Council's On-Street Parking Policy, only certain properties are eligible to receive a permit.
It is the responsibility of the permit holder to ensure they renew their permit before the expiry date. Council may send a reminder via email to the address provided on your application.

Resident Parking Scheme
Resident parking permits expire on 28 February every second year
The Resident Parking Scheme allows eligible residents who have inadequate off-street parking to apply for permits to park in their street or neighbouring streets without time restriction. Non-permit holders must comply with the 1P, 2P, 3P and 4P time restrictions in these areas. The number of permits which can be issued to residents is limited by the number of off-street parking spaces which you have and the number of vehicles registered to your address.
Council granted a two week grace period to allow residents to renew their permits. Law Enforcement Officers will be authorised to enforce public infringement notices to vehicles after this period.

Requesting a Review of a Penalty Infringement Notice
Where a member of the public would like to request a review of a Penalty Infringement Notice, this should happen directly through Revenue NSW. Council does not accept direct representations.
To request a review, contact Revenue NSW and include the following in your letter:
- name, address and contact details including email or phone number
- clear copy of the fine (marked penalty infringement notice at the top) including date, infringement number, make and model of vehicle. For all other offences, a brief description of who is responsible for the alleged offence, this may include builders, contractors etc
- identification number displayed on the meter
- date and time you attempted to use the meter and your vehicle registration number
- brief description of the problem you encountered
- reference number supplied by the parking meter customer service centre (if available)
- any other supporting documents, for example, parking permit, parking meter ticket, medical documents, photographs.
Visitor Parking Scheme
Visitor parking permits expire on 30 June annually.
Business Parking Schemes
Allows business owners/operators who have limited or no off-street parking to park in the vicinity of their business property. A maximum of two business permits can be issued to an eligible business premises per year and strict eligibility criteria applies.

Parks Parking Schemes
Designed to provide preferential parking for residents and ratepayers in Cabarita Park and Bayview Park. Residents and ratepayers of City of Canada Bay can apply for two free parks permits annually per rateable property whereas non-residents/non-ratepayers are charged for permits.
Parking permits expire on 30 June annually.
Replacement permits
Can be issued for resident, business and parks permits. This allows for permits which have been damaged or destroyed and for the changeover/sale of vehicles. Lost or destroyed Visitor permits cannot be replaced within the current permit year.
How to apply for a permit
Once you have downloaded the correct application form found on Councils forms and fact sheets page, you should return the completed form and copies of any required documents to Council by email, mail, or in person at Council's Civic Centre.

On-street pay parking
In 2012 on-street metered parking was introduced in key areas that were previously subject to chronic parking congestion, with high demand and little or no turnover. These areas are:
- Everton Road, Strathfield, between Raw Square and Moseley Street
- Rider Boulevard, Rhodes, between Oulton Avenue and Shoreline Drive
- Hospital Road, Concord West, north of Fremont Street
- Cabarita Road, Cabarita Park
- Burwood Road, Bayview Park
Parking meters are provided which allow payment via coins or credit card. A ticket is printed that must be displayed on the dashboard of a vehicle.
Council is also trialling pay by phone app technology. This allows users to pay for parking using their phone and does not require a physical ticket to be displayed.
On Hospital Road users can pay for parking via CellOPark. For more information please visit cellopark.com.au.
Parking in Cabarita and Bayview Parks
Parking fees
Due to high demand for parking in Cabarita Park and Bayview Park and limited number of available spaces, parking fees apply. This helps to ensure turnover and access for all users.
