The act of studying for mathematics examinations is significantly different to all other HSC subjects. This session, presented by Stuart Palmer, will equip students with useful study resources. It will also empower them to make best use of their time before and during their examinations.

Content and intent of the session:

  • How to summarise maths topics
  • Examination strategies
  • Gaining maximum benefit from the HSC Reference Sheet
  • Using past HSC papers and solutions
  • HSC questions (2001 to 2021) organised according to key concepts
  • HSC questions (2001 to 2021) which are now defunct due to syllabus changes
  • Aspects of topics that are new to NSW or different to the previous syllabuses
  • The ‘common questions’ in Mathematics Advanced
  • Questions worth 4 or 5 marks without parts a, b, c, etc
  • Key skills you need to master for examinations
