Seniors Festival: Cavalcade of Fashion

City of Canada Bay Museum View in maps

Join the City of Canada Bay Heritage Society for the Cavalcade of Fashion during this year's Seniors Festival!

'The Cavalcade of History and Fashion' is a not-for-profit community group who are custodians that collect, preserve and display a collection of historic fashion dating from the late 1700s.

This presentation shows original 1950s items from the Cavalcade's collection. Guests will hear how new technologies made it possible for luxury items to become accessible for everyone. How cheap easily-maintained artificial fabrics such as Orlon, Rayon, Terylene, Courtelle and Nylon brought with them different colours, textures and a different feel in the fashion world. This stream of new fabrics changed women's lives.

The exhibition will be followed by morning tea.

Accessibility note: The Museum has a ramp and is accessible for people using mobility aids and wheelchairs, however there is not a fully disabled access toilet.
