The City of Canada Bay has completed $280,000 worth of upgrades to Bayview Park, Concord, in time for the summer swim season.
New picnic tables, shelters, parking spots and pathways have been constructed at the park, which reopened as a swim site in late 2023 for the first time since 1969.
“Thanks to these upgrades, our community will enjoy an even better experience the next time they visit Bayview Park,” said City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.
“There’s nothing better than visiting the foreshore for a picnic or swim with friends and family, and I hope our community enjoys these improvements as they cool off at Bayview Park this summer.”
Proudly funded by the NSW Government, the upgrades have also seen the old ferry shelter at the park replaced with an improved design that prioritises safety and accessibility.
Looking towards the future, the Council has proposed building a new amenities building closer to the beach area and is now reviewing community feedback.
