The City of Canada Bay has recently made significant headway on the installation of the new Sanders Reserve Bridge crossing to Massey Park Golf Course in Concord.
With the frame of the bridge installed last month, all works are due to be completed by April 2024.
“We look forward to the impending completion of a new bridge, which spans over the Saltwater Creek canal and will provide a safer and more convenient connection between Massey Park Golf Course and Sanders Reserve at Concord – two local spaces which are highly valued by the community,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said.
As part of Council’s commitment to improving public safety and offering quality active recreation facilities to the community, the $870,000 project will provide a new canal bridge that connects Massey Park Golf Course and Sanders Reserve, Concord.
“We take pride in constantly enhancing our open spaces and we are delighted to be close to completion of works on the new Sanders Reserve Bridge.”
“The delivery of this project will be a positive step towards ensuring that this connection is safe and accessible for the whole community to enjoy.”
Funded by the City of Canada Bay, the current bridge will remain in use while construction of this project is underway. Upon completion, the existing bridge and outhouse will be removed.
