The City of Canada Bay has launched a new free home recycling pick-up service in partnership with HomeCycle.
“Residents can now book collections for different problem waste materials, including soft plastics, and have items picked up directly from their doorstep for recycling or reuse,” said City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.
The following materials will be accepted for collection:
- Soft plastics
- Aluminium coffee pods
- Clothing and textiles
- Small electronic items (e-waste)
- Mobile phones, printer cartridges and batteries
- Fluro globes and smoke detectors
- Oversized cardboard
- Small household bric-a-brac items in good condition for donation.
To access the service, residents simply visit the dedicated website homecycle.com.au/canadabay, create an account and select a collection time from designated pick-up days in their area.
Households can book one collection per month, with minimum two bags required for each collection. Then it’s just a matter of popping the bags at the front door the night before collection day!
“At the City of Canada Bay we are committed to helping our community reduce waste and move towards a more circular economy in line with our Resource Recovery and Waste Strategy, so we are really excited to be offering this convenient service,” said Mayor Tsirekas.
