New $1.7 million bike link for Concord

Planning & building | 31 August 2021

Concord is home to a new cycleway, making it easier for residents and visitors to get around.

The Broughton Street cycleway is part of several active transport projects this year including the $7 million Concord to the Bay Run cycleway and the Canada Bay Bike Plan.

The new cycleway features a mix of shared paths and bi-directional cycleways, pedestrian crossing reconfiguration, pedestrian facility improvements at the intersection of Gipps Street and Parramatta Road, road resurfacing, new plants and hedges, and new lights for pedestrians.

This project is part of a larger cycle link from Burwood Park to Queen Elizabeth Park funded by the NSW Government as part of the Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Program. Burwood Council has built the cycleway link from Parramatta Road to Burwood Park.
