Set to open in late 2025, this $80 million centre will offer world-class facilities for everyone in the community to use and enjoy.

The City of Canada Bay is excited to unveil the latest artist’s impressions of Rhodes Recreation Centre.

“We’re excited to reveal these fantastic new images of Rhodes Recreation Centre, opening later this year,” said City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna.

“As one of Sydney’s fastest-growing precincts, we are committed to providing our Rhodes community with high-quality open spaces and recreation facilities.

“The Centre will not only meet the needs of residents today but continue to serve future generations for years to come.”

Set to open in late 2025, this $80 million centre will offer world-class facilities for everyone in the community to use and enjoy. Once complete, the centre will feature:

  • A cutting-edge gym with group fitness areas and modern equipment
  • Two premium indoor sports courts are available for bookings
  • A dedicated gymnastics centre for all ages and skill levels
  • Bookable community rooms for events, workshops and group activities
  • An early learning centre and childcare service for young families
  • A welcoming community lounge and café

Located at 6 Gauthorpe Street, the centre is less than a five-minute walk from Rhodes Train Station and includes basement parking for easy access.

With more than 18,000 people expected to call Rhodes home by 2036, this project supports our long-term commitment to building high-quality open spaces and recreational facilities for the community, now and into the future.

In addition to the building works, Council has commenced upgrading the roads and streetscapes around Rhodes Recreation Centre to make the precinct more safe, welcoming, and accessible ahead of the centre’s opening.
