The City of Canada Bay is thrilled to announce the installation of a state-of-the-art video replay screen at Drummoyne Oval, further solidifying the venue as a premier destination for local and elite sport.

The upgraded screen is a joint initiative by the City of Canada Bay and Cricket NSW, ensuring that the venue expands its capacity to host top-tier events, including Sydney Thunder matches and other community activities.

Mayor Michael Megna welcomed the enhancement, emphasising the benefits it will bring to the local community and sports enthusiasts alike.

“This upgrade represents a significant investment in the future of Drummoyne Oval, allowing us to attract more elite-level sport while creating a valuable community asset,” Mayor Megna said.

“Not only will the screen enhance the experience for spectators, but it also opens up opportunities for innovative uses such as outdoor movie nights and community events.”

The new high-definition screen features modern replay capabilities and scoreboard functionality, benefiting multiple sporting codes, including cricket, rugby, and AFL.

The upgraded screen will also strengthen Drummoyne Oval’s position as the home of the Sydney Thunder, further enhancing its reputation as a key venue in the cricketing calendar.

“This upgrade ensures Drummoyne Oval remains a hub for high-quality sporting events,” Mayor Megna said. “I encourage the community to come down and experience the electrifying atmosphere during a match at Drummoyne Oval.”
