The City of Canada Bay welcomed the Robot Ball back to Rhodes on Friday, 31 May. Beginning back in 2017, when it was known as the Human Friendship Robot Ball, this annual event has become a firm favourite on our local events calendar.

Presented by City of Canada Bay Libraries, this year’s Robot Ball attracted nearly 300 visitors, who came along to learn about the latest in robotic technology, meet humanoids and show off their best robot dance moves. The two-hour extravaganza featured a range of fun, hands-on activities such as robot bowling, Ozobot mazes and robot soccer!

“Our annual Robot Ball is a celebration of technology where families and tech enthusiasts of all ages are welcome and able to get involved,” says City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna.

“I want to thank everyone who came along to enjoy the event, but also extend my gratitude to our event partners and volunteers for sharing their knowledge and projects with the community. I hope the event inspired visitors to be innovative and consider how technology can contribute to a brighter future.”

This year’s volunteers and exhibitors included Canada Bay’s local Tech Shed, UNSW’s Emu Robotics teams, Bossley Park High School’s Wolfgang 6434 Robotic team, Nexgen Codecamp, Fizzics Education and The Brainary.
