Sydney’s newest BMX track now open in Concord

Planning & building | 12 December 2024

We've opened a new BMX jump track at Majors Bay Reserve, Concord, as part of our $4.75 million transformation of the reserve.

“I’m thrilled to unveil our intermediate BMX track at The Shed Jump Park, giving young riders an exciting new space to enjoy,” said City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna.

“The opening of The Shed marks a key milestone in our $4.75 million upgrade of Majors Bay Reserve into a state-of-the-art recreation hub.”

Proudly funded by the NSW Government, this transformative project adds a new BMX jump park, playground, amenities building, car park, and basketball courts to the existing baseball, cricket, and soccer facilities at the reserve.

Designed and constructed by BMX pros, the park will offer riders of all ages and abilities a chance to get active and test their skills. Experienced riders can already enjoy the intermediate jump track, while early next year the park will expand to include a junior pump track, featuring a smoother, more accessible design for younger or less experienced riders.

“The park offers riders of all ages and abilities a chance to get active and test their skills. I encourage everyone to grab their bikes, put on their helmets, and come down to experience this fantastic facility,” added Mayor Megna.

In addition to the opening of The Shed Jump Park, this $4.75 million project has already seen the completion of a new outdoor youth space, carpark, Changing Places facility, and connecting pathways onsite.

The City of Canada Bay is continuing construction on its junior jump track, inclusive playground and outdoor fitness station as part of the project, with an opening event planned for early 2025.
