Pick-up services

Have you heard about HomeCycle? It's a home pick-up recycling service.

City of Canada Bay residents are eligible for a home recycling service to have items picked up from their doorstep for recycling and reuse.

The following materials can be booked for collection:

  • Clothing, manchester and textiles
  • Fashion accessories, handbags and shoes
  • Small electronic items (e-waste)
  • Mobile phones, printer cartridges and batteries
  • Fluro globes and smoke detectors
  • Soft plastics including medicine blister packs
  • Aluminium coffee pods
  • Oversized cardboard. Boxes and large cardboard packaging must be flattened and all polystyrene and tape removed.
  • Good condition small household bric-a-brac items including toys, sporting goods & musical instruments.

All items should be able to be handled and lifted by one person.

Collections can be booked via the HomeCycle booking system and must have a minimum of 2 bags per pick-up. Please ensure your items fit into a box or bags that can be lifted by one person. There are no limits to the amount of items you can put out for collection.

If you would like more information about HomeCycle, or to report a missed collection, please contact HomeCycle at 02 9066 5834 or info@homecycle.com.au.

The Bower Collection Service and Reuse Database

If you have unwanted furniture or other items at home that you no longer want, The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre offers Canada Bay residents a free collection and rehoming service

Please note, The Bower can't accept all donations due to space availability, functionality and low demand. In these cases The Bower may refer you to one of the organisations or charities in their database. These organisations repair, reuse or resell your wanted goods, keeping them out of landfill.

Check out The Bower's Reuse Database for more options to rehome your items that are too good to go to landfill.
