'Return and Earn' is the NSW Government's container refund scheme. Residents and businesses can claim a 10c refund on eligible drink containers, with the aim of reducing litter and increasing recycling. City of Canada Bay residents have returned over 109 million eligible bottles, cans and cartons since the Return and Earn scheme commenced operations.
Return points include automated Reverse Vending Machines (RVM), as well as over the counter returns at participating stores.

You can choose to collect or donate the 10c deposit on eligible containers via a RVM, or you can continue placing containers in your recycling bin. Council receives a portion of the value of containers that are left in the recycling bin by residents, and these funds can go towards further recycling programs in our area. You can also collect the refund on any containers you find in our parks.
Return and Earn is reducing the number of drink containers in the litter stream, and there has been a reduction in drink container litter of 54% exceeding the NSW target for 40% litter reduction.
