In April 2023, City of Canada Bay Libraries hosted 2 hands-on cartography workshops with Uncle Jimmy Smith at Five Dock Library. Participants worked in small groups to create hand drawn maps which explored, and re-imagined their knowledge of the plants, animals, landforms and waterways in our local area. These maps have been digitised and will be on display at Five Dock Library as part of our celebration of NAIDOC week.

Join us at Cabarita Park this July for a special youth NAIDOC week event. Before it was a park, Cabarita was Wangal Country, rich with food, medicine and culture. Join Uncle Jimmy Smith on a guided walk through Cabarita Park and experience the land, water, plants, and wildlife from the Wangal perspective. Following the walk participants, afternoon tea is provided and you will have the chance to yarn with Uncle Jimmy and ask questions.
