Chris Smith is a Sydney-based emerging artist inspired by the beauty of nature.

The Motion of the Ocean series reflects the natural wonders of our coast calling on the experiences of the viewer to be immersed in the environment, transporting them to a time and place where they enjoyed the crystal clear waters of our oceans.

Motion and energy is an important element of the seascapes drawing on the senses — the sound of the withdrawing water to form the wave followed by the accompanied crash and the sense of the salty moist air on the skin.

In 1927, Albert Einstein stated during an interview with The Saturday Evening Post that “imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world”.
